Dr. Scott Geddes graduated with distinction from The University of Edinburgh in 1989. He worked as a House Officer and Registrar in Orthodontics at Edinburgh Dental Hospital before relocating to Australia in 1991 to begin private practice at The Dental Centre.
Scott has a continuing interest in dentofacial orthopaedics and orthodontics, having completed over 500 hours of continuing professional development in these fields, and has treated many hundreds of adults and children.
Scott’s interest outside of work include playing golf and squash regularly and an ongoing attempt to learn to play at least one song all the way through on his guitar.


Dr. Margaret Roberts

Dr. Margaret Roberts graduated from the University of Queensland in 1992 with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours), commencing private practice in Inverell before moving to Coffs Harbour in 1996.
Margaret has developed a special interest through continuing professional development in endodontics and performs most of the root canal therapy at The Dental Centre. She also enjoys the challenge of treating younger children and provides general anaesthetic sessions at Baringa Private Hospital for patients who cannot tolerate treatment under local anaesthetic.
Margaret’s life outside of the dental surgery is also pretty busy, with her husband, Pete and their teenage sons. Triathlon has become a midlife passion. She’ll often be found swimming in the harbour or riding her bike around the local roads.


Dr. Ruth Drakes

Dr. Ruth Drakes studied dentistry in Manchester, England, graduating in 2001. She worked in Plymouth and London before taking the plunge and moving to Australia. The move was obviously a good one as she has been practicing in Coffs Harbour for the past 11 years.

Ruth’s role at The Dental Centre is as an “all-rounder” as she enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but with a particular leaning towards cosmetic work. She currently works part-time on a Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday and gets to spend the rest of the week exploring our beautiful region with her infant daughter. Ruth has also fallen victim to the fitness bug and has been training hard enough to be able to complete a half marathon recently.


Mr. Philip Ramsden

Philip Ramsden graduated with an Associate Diploma in Dental Therapy from Curtin University in Western Australia. He worked in a large regional practice in Bunbury for 15 years, before relocating to Sawtell with his wife, Robyn, in 2006.

Phil will be a familiar face to many as he has worked part-time in a number of local surgeries but was excited to take up a full-time position at The Dental Centre in 2009. Phil looks forward to welcoming new and existing patients and continuing our strong focus on providing preventative dentistry.


Dr. Caroline Gordon

Caroline qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2012. She worked in Lancashire, England for four years before making the move to Coffs Harbour in October 2016. Making the move to Australia, she feels, is the best thing she could have done. The pure beauty of the Mid North Coast has taken her breath away. She predominantly works as a general Dentist but has an interest in short term orthodontics using the system Quick Straight Teeth. Caroline works ethically and believes prevention is the key to keeping happy healthy smiles. Caroline is a compassionate dentist who takes pride in trying to reduce dental anxiety; She aims to make the dental experience as comfortable as possible and offers inhalation sedation with nitrous oxide for both children and adults. Caroline also has a keen interest in facial aesthetics, and is qualified to provide anti-wrinkle injection and dermal filler treatments.

Outside of work, Caroline supports her husband who plays for the Coffs Harbour Snappers. She loves live music, enjoys playing oz tag and often goes trekking and camping.

Emma joined The Dental Centre in 2005 and has been a fixture of the practice on and off since then (broken up by extended overseas holidays when she gets itchy feet!). Emma’s role is to provide support to Cherie and to step into the role of Practice Manager when needed. Emma’s enthusiasm to make The Dental Centre the best practice in the region knows no bounds. Outside of work she loves travelling and supporting her partner’s triathlon addiction.


Mrs. Cathy Kelleher

Cathy Kelleher graduated from the Shellharbour School of Dental Therapy in 1982 and has built a wealth of experience through positions in both NSW and Queensland. Her role at the Dental Centre is to build confidence and trust in our younger patients so that their early dental experiences are positive.

Commencing work in Coffs Harbour with the North Coast Area Health Service in 1988, Cathy has developed a vast knowledge and understanding of the oral health needs of children in our community. Cathy’s care for these patients includes examinations, x-rays, fluoride treatments, scales and polishes, fissure sealants, various restorative treatments and extractions. She works closely with paediatric dental specialists from Westmead in more complex cases.


Dr. Quintin Wilson

Dr. Quintin has worked in a wide range of environments in the past, holding appointments as Clinical Consultant Hunter New England Local Health District, Consultant and Principal Dentist Teacher Health Fund and Lead Practitioner positions in private practice. He has also previously worked with the Department of Defence, and he is delighted to be returning to the Mid North Coast.
Born in Bellingen, he has degrees in Applied Science, Personnel Management and Dentistry, as well as a post graduate degree in Dental Implants. His primary area of interest is oral surgery, including wisdom teeth removal and he currently provides holds appointments at the Coffs Harbour, Kempsey and Port Macquarie Hospitals where he provides oral surgery services. Quintin also enjoys teaching oral surgery and regularly travels abroad to participate as an instructor in an Oral Surgery Course for dentists wanting to expand their skills in this area.
When not at work Quintin enjoys cycling, travel and spending time with his wife Sally, and his two boys, Jack and Harry.


Dr. Simon Sweet

Dr. Simon Sweet studied dentistry at the world famous Guy’s Hospital in London where he graduated with distinction after winning a number of academic awards and prizes for excellence in dental practice.
Simon also worked as a scientist at Guy’s Hospital, as well at Glasgow Dental Hospital where he was awarded a PhD for studies into periodontal disease. He has taught undergraduate and postgraduate dental students, has lectured all around the world and has published over twenty scientific papers and edited two books.
In 2005, Simon came to Australia to work with the Flying Doctor Service in Broken Hill for three months. Seven years later he was still there, after working in a private practice as well as in a children’s dental clinic and in an aboriginal health service.
In 2012, Simon and his wife visited a friend in Coffs Harbour. They loved it so much they decided stay and their two children were born here.
Simon’s patients love his friendly, easygoing attitude, and he can put even the most nervous person at ease. He always tries to make a visit to the dentist fun for children.
Simon is experienced in all aspects of dentistry.

Cherie joined The Dental Centre in 2001 and has held the position of Practice Manager since 2009. She has a wealth of knowledge regarding the administrative requirements of our practice and a strong drive to make sure that we continue to provide an outstanding experience for our patients. Outside of work, she enjoys keeping fit (mostly by chasing around after her two little boys)!

Hana joined The Dental Centre in 2011, starting as a chairside assistant and receptionist. She is now in the role of Treatment Coordinator: a liaison between our clinical staff and our patients. This gives our patients an accessible point of contact should they have any questions regarding their treatment needs or appointment scheduling. Outside of work, Hana loves simply spending time with her young family on their property in Glenreagh.
