As well as providing the very highest quality of general and cosmetic dentistry, at The Dental Centre we also provide more specialised services, carried out with care and attention by our dedicated team to preserve and improve your smile.

Dental implants can be used to replace missing teeth and mimic a natural tooth root and crown in both function and appearance. The base of an implant is a titanium screw, which is positioned inside the jaw bone in the region of the missing tooth root. Once the implant foundation is in position, the surrounding bone begins to grow around it and will eventually bond to the implant. This provides a strong, stable foundation to which a crown or bridge can be attached to replace the missing tooth.

Your implant procedure generally requires just a small incision in the gum line to allow placement of the titanium implant. You should be completely comfortable during the procedure with the help of local anaesthetic and often will be able to return to your normal daily routine the following day.

Once your implant has bonded, we then construct your brand new tooth replacement and attach this to provide a sustainable chewing improvement and rejuvenation of your smile.

With dental implants you can once again achieve a beautiful, complete smile that is stable, functional and reliable.

Even though popular myth describes root canal therapy (RCT) as a painful procedure, in fact RCT is designed to relieve the severe pain caused by a dead or dying nerve in an infected tooth. RCT has a high success rate and can help to preserve a tooth that would otherwise fail.

Root canal therapy is a complex procedure but can usually be completed with the same comfort and convenience as a filling. The Dental Centre offers the latest rotary endodontic equipment to maximise the efficiency of your root canal treatment and routinely use electronic pulp testers and apex locators for maximum accuracy in diagnosis and treatment planning.

The ideal way to avoid painful, potentially disfiguring and often expensive sports dental injuries is with a custom-made mouthguard from The Dental Centre.

Our mouthguards are fitted to your unique anatomy using a detailed cast of your mouth. This allows us to fit your individual bite pattern, mouth shape and gum contour with accuracy and offer the best protection for your teeth. An off-the-shelf mouthguard does not have accurate distribution of support around your teeth and gums and therefore offers you only limited protection by comparison.

The far superior fit of a professional mouthguard allows you to breathe and speak more easily for optimum performance. Choose from our wide selection of team colours and patterns to protect your teeth in style.

On some occasions, after we have explored alternatives, a tooth needs to be extracted. This may be due to extensive decay, bone infection, an irreparable fracture or impacted wisdom teeth.

Once your tooth is removed, we can advise you on your options for a suitable replacement such as a fixed or removable bridge or dental implants.
